New Life

 

“…if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new.” – 2 Corinthians 5:17  

 

There was an ancient church in Scotland. The church looked grand and splendid. But only a few members gathered for worship and prayer. They used to dust and clean the benches and floor and then held prayer and worship. They never ever bothered to dust the picture that was hanging high up on the wall. As the picture was thickly covered with ingrained dust and dirt, the picture was hidden. They felt that it was a tough task to dust it as it was out of reach. A team of youth took a project to stay in the churches and tidy the churches. When they came to the ancient church, their eyes felt on the picture buried in dust. One of them said that the dust clad picture could be discarded. But another lad in the team was curious to know what the picture was about. When they dusted it thoroughly and wiped and cleaned it with water there emerged a picturesque scene. The scene of last supper of Jesus with the 12 apostles was painted so realistically. They all amazed to know that it was the magnificent painting done by Leonardo DaVinci, the eminent artist. Having understood the worth of the wonderful painting, they hung it back on the wall again.

 

Dear little sisters and brothers, our soul within us is precious and has eternal life. Our soul gets covered with the dust of sins such as telling lies, stealing, using abusive language and disobeying and it is concealed and filthy. Only to cleanse us from all stains of sins Jesus came into this world and died on the cross shedding His holy blood. The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin and makes our soul pure and changes us into a new creation. When we are in Christ, we become precious. Yes, Kutties, I know you have the desire to become a new creation in Christ. Very Good.
