Trait of an animal

 

“…for the battle is the Lord’s...” - 1 Samuel 17:47

 

We often read in the newspapers about the humans behaving like animals. Our heart pounds on hearing the sexual abuse done to little children and young girls in our country. The victims are affected mentally and psychologically. We boil with rage to know the animal nature in humans. They may be punished for their social offense. But how can the child’s family bear the great loss? They may be like walking corpse in the society. What an unbearable agony!

 

In the book of I Samuel, 17th chapter, the conversation between Saul and David takes place. Saul told David not to go against Goliath to fight with him as he was a youth and Goliath a man of war from his youth. Saul tried to convince him and prevent him from fighting with the Philistine (1 Samuel 17:32). What an awesome incident narrated by David as his reply. David said to Saul, “When I was keeping my father’s sheep and when a lion or a bear came and took a lamb out of the flock, I went out after it and struck it and delivered the lamb from its mouth.

 

Beloved, shall we show intensity and vigour like David in our action? Don’t we have the urge to save the young children from the evil men as David delivered the lamb from dangerous animals? That does not mean that we should adopt the violent method of protest. If we pray fervently, the miserable state of young girls will change. Their souls can be saved for Christ. Do we underestimate our power and live-in fear for our adversary the devil? As David proclaimed “The battle is the Lord’s.” Let us be in the frontline in the battle and God shall work it out. Let us fight on our knees for the healing and well being of our country and claim victory.
