Unquestioning Obedience 

 

“.. I have obeyed the voice of the Lord my God and have done according to all that you have commanded me” - Deuteronomy 26:14

 

“Wanted! Men for work” was the advertisement given by a wealthy man. Many young men reported themselves with much enthusiasm. Of course, they accomplished the tasks given by him for a couple of days and then they quitted the work. No youth could withstand even for a week. At last, a young lad came for work. At first the boss asked the lad to shift the heap of gravel to another place at a distance. In this way he was given hard manual labor throughout the week. He carried out the tasks without a word of opposition and he received the wages for that week. The rich man was so sure that the lad would not come on Monday. But to his astonishment, the lad came to work. The rich man was delighted to notice the hardworking nature of the lad. The obedient and faithful lad was given a job suitable for his qualification and talents. Moreover, the rich man made him his escort till his end. 

 

What a pleasing life Moses must have led to earn the testimony as, “Moses was faithful in all His house as a servant” from God. God gave Moses His plan and direction for building a tabernacle. Thus, Moses did according to all that the Lord had commanded him so he did. The tabernacle was made exactly as it should be built. He never exposed his wisdom. He did everything faithfully paying heed to the word of God. His complete, unquestioning obedience is commendable.

 

Beloved, Are we submissive to God in our inner life? Do we strive to follow all the percepts? God seeks people who do His will without questioning and with complete obedience. If we do so He will transform us into living fountain that is useful to many others. God might have called us to do some ordinary work in the church. Without questioning if we do that odd job disregarding our over qualification and talent, seeing our faithfulness, He will give us more responsibilities. If we murmur and complain for trifling matter, who will entrust us with responsible work? We need to start from submission, the first step and ascend to the top. We shall be exalted if we listen to His voice and fulfill His will.

Pray that the construction work of the Prayer Tabernacle which can hold 2000 people is completed soon and dedicated for the glory of God’s name.
