The song of the Indian Cuckoo

 

“I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” – Psalms 34:1  

 

Hello kutties, have you heard the chirping and twittering of the birds? I have heard them singing. Each bird has its own sound. Koel sings, Cock crows, Crow caws and Parrot talks. There is joy in hearing their sounds. Look there two koels are chatting. Come let us hear what they say.

 

Indian cuckoo is the other name of koel. Two koels were sitting on the big branch of a tree. They had been singing so sweetly right from dawn. Actually they sing and praise God, their Creator every morning without fail. The first koel said, “Have a look at the people passing by. Some of them go to their workplace, some to the bank and the children to school”. The other koel agreed saying, “Yes, they are busy. Some are going to the restaurants and many workers are at the three storeyed building which is under construction. But what troubles me is that none of them has a ray of smile on their faces. They are not at all happy. Is there anyone smiling? I don’t think they praise and thank God for all goodness they have received. Why do they look grim? We don’t have a smart phone to entertain us, but still we are content and thank and praise God happily”.

 

The first one replied saying, “We are not sure what we shall have for our next feed. But we don’t worry like them”. The second one stated that the human beings may not have their heavenly Father as we have our Creator. Thus their conversation came to an end and they continued with their singing.

 

Little ones, what would koel tell us if it happens to meet and talk to us? It will ask us to wake up at dawn and sing in praise of God. Our Lord God knows all our needs. So we are bound to offer our very first hour to Him. If we spend time with Him as soon as we wake up, God will bless us with delight. Are you ready to sing the songs of praise and exalt His name?
