Daily Devotion (English) – 24.04.2022 (Kids Special)

 

Unchanging

 

“For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore, ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.” – Malachi 3:6

 

Once, all the birds living in a certain forest had a conference under a tree. And our national bird was the chief of the conference. Do you know which is our national bird? Yes, Peacock. Don’t forget it. Ok? The peacock looked at everyone and remarked sadly that some of the species of their friends had gone extinct. The eagle also agreed with the peacock saying that there was a rapid decrease in their population also. The eagle recalled the days when they flew around and over the villages so freely. Then the peacock asked the crow who visited the houses frequently why the birds were becoming rare in towns and cities and why there was a decline in their population.

 

At once crow said, “How can I explain it? There are new inventions. The farmers spray and sprinkle pesticides and insecticides and the insects and worms die and we don’t have them for food. The air is polluted by burning plastic materials and oily substances. Not only this, there is a sharp fall in our population because of cell phones and the cell phone towers.” All the birds agreed with the crow’s statement. The peacock shared its experience by saying, “In those days, the children and the elders used to admire joyfully when I danced. But there is a change in their attitude and they do not look at me with admiration. They are attracted by their shiny and colorful garments.” A little sparrow commented saying, “On the whole we can say that the world of nature had changed into natureless world.” All the birds laughed and remarked that even though the sparrow was small, it had understood the present plight of the world. The peacock affirmed saying, “The world may change, the people may change. But God who created us will not change. Then all the birds said in a chorus, “Let us give thanks to our creator who feeds us and protects us. So, the conference came to an end with the note of thanksgiving. 

 

Beloved children, did you hear the talk of the birds? We live in a transient world and people are short lived. If we put it in a nut shell everything is temporary in this world. Only God stays the same. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. We should not seek the changing man. Let us seek Jesus and receive true happiness. Super! Are you ready?
