If abandoned by the trusted ones…

 

“If is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.” - Psalm118:8

 

MTS Oceanos, was a cruise ship that sank on 4th August, 1991, as it suffered uncontrolled flooding due to storm. The passengers were not informed that the ship was in great peril. But the captain and some crew were preparing to abandon the ship and flee without helping the passengers. Moss Hills, the Tour Director and a famous musician from England rose to the occasion. He and the members of the entertainment group helped launch life boats, establish radio contact on the bridge, get passengers off the sinking vessels into rescue helicopters and Moss Hills remained on board until every passenger was rescued. All the passengers and crew survived. It is unbelievable but true.

 

What shall we do if we are forsaken and left bereft by the same people who had defended, supported and guided us earlier? Such incidents occur in the Bible. Those who were considered as the source of hope and strength and reliable helpers became enemies and conspired against them. Many of us might have experienced such predicament. They safeguard themselves in dangerous situations and abandon the others who are with them. What is the final solution for all such problems? Let us adhere to the word of God. David affirms in Psalms that, “Now my Lord what do I wait for? My hope is in you.” When the Lord is our hope we need not worry in difficult situation. The word of God and His power are enough to deliver us.

 

Beloved in Christ God has given us His precious and magnificent promises. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage. Do not be afraid nor be dismayed for the Lord your God wherever you go.” Now God is speaking to us through His word. Our Lord will direct and lead us in the time of trouble if we cling to God’s promises.

Pray that God may meet the need of 2 lakh rupees for the construction of each missionary cottage to accommodate the missionaries during training.
