Daily Devotion – 17-04-2022 (Kid’s special)

Image of Christ

“…Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.” Matthew 5:44

Hello friend! What is special today? Yes. We are celebrating Easter, the resurrection of Christ. Jesus conquered death and He is alive and He is the living God who is with us. The best gift to him is to put on the newself and reflect the image of our creator. Shall we find out what gift was given by Esther to God?

Suganthi was a naughty girl doing 7th Std. She would often pull pranks on other classmates and they would also fight back. She used to pull the other girl’s ribbon or hide her pen and did mischief. Sometimes their funny fights would end up in tears. Suganthi was admonished by her class teacher many times. But she remained the same and there was no change in her behavior. One day Suganthi tore the Science notebook of Esther deliberately. But Esther was such a good girl that she did not retaliate. Esther was meek and quiet by nature. But Esther’s close friend Jothi approached her hurriedly and scolded Esther saying, “I saw Suganthi tearing your notebook. But you are keeping mum. If I were in your place, I would have returned the same to her.”

One day Suganthi was down with a fever. She could not come to school for a week. How kind Esther was to get Suganthi’s favorite cream biscuits and visit her! Suganthi could not believe her eyes. No other classmate had visited her so far. She marveled at Esther’s love for her. She repented and felt sorry for being wicked. The next day Suganthi went to Sunday school. Esther was so glad to see Suganthi and enquired about her health. Suganthi said, “I became alright, after you had prayed for me. I also long to be a good natured girl. That is why I have come here’’ Esther was exceedingly happy and gave thanks to the Lord. See how Esther exhibited Christlikeness in her life!

Beloved lads and lasses, we can reflect the image of Jesus, by forgiving the one who hurts us or troubles us. As Esther possessed the forgiving nature, Suganthi, the prankster got to know Jesus. Let us exhibit Christlikeness in our daily life!
