Entry into Paradise 

“Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.” - Luke 23:43

The second word of Jesus from the cross
The repentant thief who was crucified with Christ Jesus is the best Biblical example for being saved not of works but by grace through faith. 

That thief did not belong to any church. He did not take Holy Communion. He did neither ministry nor uphold ministry. In the last minute, with his heart, he believed and with the mouth confession was made unto salvation and he entered Paradise. Although his spiritual experience was very little, it had taken him to Christ, and he escaped from hell. 

He was a wicked man and a murderer as well. Of course, he was convicted and condemned to death. The onlookers might have thought that it was too late for him to ask for mercy. But Jesus answered to his supplication at once. He spoke to him with compassion. His sins were washed away, and he was forgiven and accepted with clemency. He was justified by faith. His confession of faith was honored. Christ Jesus, while dying won a soul and he confirmed that the thief would be with Him in Paradise. A sinner was saved, and he obtained, the gift of eternal life. 

Beloved readers of this devotion, it does not matter who we are and how we are, but we must not lose hope. Jesus is the same even after two thousand years. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He never changes His mind. Our sins may be countless. We might have grown with some bad habits and not able to break them. Ofcourse, they are disheartening. But if we pin our hope on Jesus, we shall be delivered from sins and sickness. He can raise us from the dust. The heaven is not closed for us. With humility, let us commit our souls into the comforting hands of Jesus. He is awaiting to accept us. Our God is full of compassion and great in mercy. Let us seek Jesus and inherit eternal life.
