Written with blood

“…God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ...” - Galatians 6:14

In a terrible bus accident many passengers were badly injured and they were crying out in pain. Ambulances and firemen rushed to the spot to take the victims to the hospital. On one of the seats they noticed a message written with blood. It had been written by a man who was bleeding to death due to severe injuries. He had written with his blood. “I love my wife and children exceedingly.” We are moved by the love he had for his family. But Jesus Christ manifested His love towards us who are the sinners by shedding His holy blood on the cross. What a great sacrifice!

Apostle Paul completes his epistle to Galatians keeping in mind the affliction and agony he underwent for Christ without expressing it openly. Paul was falsely accused, kept in prison and was on trial because he preached the importance of Christ’s death for our sins and his burial and resurrection because they gave importance to rituals done with pomp. He did not want to please anybody. Just for his safety and well being he never twisted or distort the gospel of Christ Jesus. He bore on his body the marks of Christ Jesus and affirmed strongly that God showed His love towards us by writing it with the blood of Christ Jesus which was shed on the cross. 

Beloved, we know that our good work and righteousness are like filthy rags. Christ Jesus demonstrated His love for us by sacrificing Himself on the cross.  Visualizing the Calvary scene in our mind’s eye, let us resolve to show Christ like love in our everyday life and endure afflictions patiently. Let us allow God to reign in our life. Let us boast only in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ Amen!
