Jesus is our firm foundation

“In whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into the holy temple in the lord.” -  Ephesians 2:21

Leaning tower of Pisa in Italy was built two hundred years ago. Originally designed to be a bell tower, it stood upright for over 5 years. When the third floor was completed, it began to lean. It was built on a ground that was composed of dense clay, fine sand and shells from the two rivers that frame the city of Pisa. The foundation of the tower was only 3 meter deep. Thus, as a result of the soggy ground and unstable foundation the tower began to diffuse downward. The strength of any building lies in its strong and deep foundation. There are many magnificent towers and majestic skyscrapers which are stable and firmly established due to the solid foundation laid.             

Jesus says in one of his parables that whoever hears the word of God and puts it into practice will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock and it withstood rain, wind and flood as it was founded on the rock. We are God’s building and the foundation of which is Jesus Christ. The building is growing up by degrees, to a holy temple in the Lord. It is possible if we continue steadfastly in the apostle’s doctrine and fellowship are made on the solid rock. Any foundation in life that is not Jesus is doomed to fail. Beloved, if we lay foundation trusting in our money, or man power or the foundation will be unstable and 
great will be its fall. 

Let us build on a firm foundation of Christ and withstand whatever comes our way. Our families should be built on solid rock on God himself because with families the foundation need to be made of something even stronger and will not be shaken. Too many families have built on wrong foundation and have fallen prey to the devise of satan and have been blown asunder.  Let us build our life on Jesus, the solid rock by faith.
