Warning and response 

“…let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.” - 1Thessalonians 5:6

We spent the last two years in dread of the life threatening covid-19 pandemic and as a preventive measure we were on lock down. We were strictly insisted on wearing face masks, maintaining distance, sanitizing the hands and getting vaccinated. Then the pandemic had an impact on transport.  Land, water and air transports were reduced and cancelled. Educational institutions, factories and business centers remained closed. Festivals, functions and worship in places of worship were barred. All the people paid heed to the warnings and instructions given by the doctors and the government. We all adhered to the orders ardently out of terror and fear of death.

But how much reverence and regards do we give to the warning given by God to us? Apostle Paul says, “The Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel and with the trumpet of God” No one knows the day or the hour of the second coming of Jesus. How much weightage is given to the word of God? Are we prepared to meet Jesus? 

We believe the first coming of Jesus, the savior of the world and celebrate it with joy and cheer. But how do we respond to the warning about the second coming of Jesus? Are we ready to meet Jesus? Let us catch up with Him with the same spirit of joy and shout. If we are not prepared, we will be in an awful state just like the foolish virgins found in the parable narrated by Jesus. Let us be as diligent as the wise virgins to inherit the kingdom of God. Let us not be lethargic saying that there is no hope of His coming as He has not come yet. We cannot meet the Lord in the air when He descends from heaven if we do not take heed to the message. So let us be watchful and get prepared for His second coming and pay attention to end time warning and got act accordingly and be ready for the Day of Christ Jesus to be with the Lord forever.
