Daily Devotion (English) – 08.03.2022

Commended by the Lord Jesus 

“…She has done a good work for me…” – Mark 14:6

If we take a look at the events from Jesus’ life, we could see many women happened to meet Jesus. But among all the women, the one who anointed Jesus by pouring very costly oil on His head was highly commended by Jesus. Although she was criticized sharply by everyone, Jesus complimented her saying, “She has done a good work for me; she has done what she could.” Moreover, wherever the gospel is preached in the whole world, what the woman had done was made known and acknowledged. Why did Jesus compliment her so much? She did not only what she could but also what was acceptable to God. 

Nobijo, a young Chinese girl was a child of God. When she prayed earnestly for her desire to be fulfilled, God revealed His will for her life. It was contradictory to her own desire. But she submitted to what the Lord told her to do. God spoke to her saying, “You belong to those broken-hearted people who commit suicide by jumping from a certain hilltop.” She acted immediately. Nobijo erected a signboard on the hilltop which announced, “Please don’t die by suicide. Meet Nobijo first. God loves you.” Her address was also given below. On the very first day a few people came to meet her. Thus, when she passed away at the age of 92, she had saved 5000 people from committing suicide and helped them taste the love of Christ Jesus. As she surrendered herself to God and let go off her will, she became a blessing to numerous people. There is no doubt that God would have commended her highly. 

Beloved sisters, are you frustrated that you are not useful to anyone as you are woman? No, never. The Lord, who revealed His desire to Nobijo, will certainly reveal His plan for your life if you wait at His presence and pray. He will use everyone in a different way. The works acceptable to God such as doing charity secretly, ministry, fasting prayer etc can be done regularly. We can reach out to the people listed in Matthew 25:35-36 namely the hungry, thirsty, stranger, naked, and sick and the prisoners. Jesus assures that what we do to them was done to God. For sure we will be commended. My “Women’s day” greetings to every woman, who is going to be complimented by the Lord.
