Daily Devotion (English) – 06.03.2022 (Kids Special)

What is your desire?

 

“…in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed” – Genesis 12:3

 

Hello, Kutties! Are you going to school regularly? I think you are all delighted to go to school, fine. Would you like to listen to a story? Once, three young students were good friends.  One day the three friends went for a walk. On the way they met an elderly person. The elderly person put forth a question to them. Do you like to know the question? Those three friends also wondered what that question would be. The elderly person asked, “What is your desire in life?” The first friend said that he wanted to amass wealth. The second friend’s desire was to gain a lot of knowledge and become a scholar. The third friend longed to help those who were sick, unemployed and in sorrow and trouble.

 

On hearing their wishes, the elderly person advised them to keep praying if they wanted their desire to be fulfilled. The three friends prayed fervently and studied well. And after many years their dreams came true. The first friend was good at business and amassed wealth. But he was always in fear of being robbed off his possessions. He lost good sleep and peace of mind. The second friend became a scholar holding many degrees but he could not make sure which offer to be accepted. So, he was waiting to choose a career. The third friend was exceedingly joyful. When the other two friends asked him about the secret of his happiness, he said that he was glad that he could make others gleeful by praying and healing their sickness and doing miracles in the lives of people who suffer and in debt. His friends understood that the way to be happy is to make others happy. They requested their friend to pray for them. They also made up their minds to be a blessing to others like their friend.

 

Kids, sharing make us happy. Let us also lead a life that makes others happy.  Jesus will be well pleased with us and we shall be a blessing to others.
