To me live is Christ
“…for to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” – Philippians 1:21
In Iran, a false accusation of treason was filed against a certain Iranian named Mactchi Dibaj for his faith in Christ and he was put in prison. During his trial, what he confessed itself was his death time confession. He declared, “An individual has every right to choose and follow any religion. Christian is a person who has Christ in him. It is better to lose our breath than to give up our faith in God because death is gain for those who have chosen to live for Christ’s glory. Jesus won numerous people to the kingdom of God by His crucifixion. A true disciple of Christ is the one who follows His master even in death and dies as a martyr for Christ.
Christ Jesus has been leading me through by His grace for 45 years. I am the winner, even if lakhs of wicked and fanatic people confront me because Jesus who conquered death is standing at my side. My life is in His hands. As I have totally surrendered myself to God I can boldly say, “Life is to live for Jesus and death is to live with Jesus.” Thus, he affirmed undeterred, “I shall never deny my faith in Christ Jesus.” and he faced death triumphantly.
Paul declares, “To me to live in Christ and to die is gain. In the first Epistle to the Corinthians Paul asserts that he dies daily. He was ready to fall into the ground like a corn of wheat and die and bring forth much fruit.
Beloved readers, at times we lose heart even for insignificant matter. Sometimes we retrieve and backslide. We deny Jesus daringly and turn away from Him. But the Holy Spirit urges us to be zealous and fervent for God. We have one life to live and soon it will end. Let us live for Jesus. If we live, we live to the Lord, if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die we are the Lord’s. Let us live and lose our lives for Christ and receive the crown of life.
