Chariot of the prophet

“Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord?” - I Samuel 15:22

We take delight in going around the town, wandering here and there and making merry. Backward kick is our specialty. If a stranger comes very close to us, we just give a backward kick and escape. But we are very faithful to our masters. People ride on us. So, we are useful to carry loads and people.

One day a shocking but a thrilling incident occurred in my life. I was on my way back to Judah carrying a certain man of God. We met a lion on our way. I trembled with fear. The lion tore and killed the prophet. But it did not do any harm to me. Actually, it was standing close to me. I wondered what could be the cause of the death of the prophet. Then I came to know that the prophet, who was returning after accomplishing the ministry assigned to him perfectly, listened to the false prophecy of an old prophet and disobeyed the word of God.

Beloved, I am the donkey who carried the prophet. It is quite true that the prophet went and prophesied against Jeroboam by the word of the Lord. But he failed, when he believed the false prophecy of the old prophet and disregarded the commandment which the Lord had commanded him to do. He prophesied the word of God correctly. He did his ministry well. But he miserably failed in his personal life. The old prophet lied and made him deviate from his purpose and he was deceived. He could not practice what he said. Beloved, you may be doing ministry or you may be preaching the word of God effectively. But you need to practice in your life what you preach. Beware of false prophets and false teachers. Stand firm to the end. I have shared what I consider as a warning to everyone.
