Daily Devotion (English) – 16.02.2022 (God’s creation’s special)

Fortunate rod

“...the rod of Aaron…had sprouted and put forth buds had produced blossoms and yielded ripe almonds.” – Numbers 17:8

We are used as firewood for burning. Usually, we lie uncared for. One day when it rained heavily, I asked the rain water to save me. It carried me away and left me in a corner. I longed for a new beginning. I wished I had sprouted and bloomed and yielded. My creator heard my cry. You know what happened next? A certain man named Aaron picked me and he wrote his name on me and I was placed with the other eleven friends bearing the names of the leaders of the father’s house in the tabernacle of meeting. An outstanding miracle happened the very next day. I alone sprouted, put-forth buds and blossomed and yielded ripe almonds. Shall I tell you the secret behind this wonder? 

Moses and Aaron were servants of God chosen us leaders to lead the Israelites out of Egypt and they also did the work of the tabernacle of the Lord. But all the people of the twelve houses of Israel rebelled and gathered together to complain against Moses and Aaron. God heard their murmur. The leaders were blamed unnecessarily. As they murmured, their rods did not sprout. But Aaron, who picked me, was a man of God who was obedient and Godly. 

Beloved in Christ, we may be waiting for a long time for an issue related to employment, promotion, marriage or fruit of the womb. No matter how big our problems are God can give us the desire of our heart. If we commit our ways to the Lord and trust in Him, He shall bring it to pass. Then our sorrow will turn to joy. With God everything is possible. So, without seeking worldly power and position, like Aaron let us carry out our responsibilities patiently without grumbling. We shall be exalted in due time. Yes, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.” Wait on the Lord and be of good courage.
