Life saving ark

“…He who wins souls is wise.” – Proverbs 11:30 

I think Prophet Moses needs no introduction. I played a major role in keeping baby Moses alive. Yes, I am the ark of bulrushes. I never dreamt that I would be so blessed to carry the baby who was the future leader of Israelites who led them out of slavery in Egypt. When numerous babies were swept away in the river, the eyes of the daughter of the Pharaoh fell only on me. I hope you are familiar with the rest of the story. Ok.

I do think that there are similarities between my phases of growth and the stages of your spiritual growth. I was grown in marshy and wet land. When I grew big, they took me away from there. Once you too were in the miry clay of sins and God lifted you out of the horrible pit. Thus, you have been separated from this world and its way of life. You are set apart for God. Secondly, I was left in the sunlight to dry up. Yes, you too strive to get rid of all your sensual nature in the light of Jesus, the sun of righteousness. Although I was dried, I was not suitable to be woven as I would easily get broken. I was conditioned and treated by the water sprinkled on me. Then I was ready to be woven. In the same manner you too must be refreshed and rejuvenated by the water of life, the Holy Spirit. After being woven into a basket, tiny pores were found all over me. So, I was daubed with asphalt and pitch and I became water proof and I could protect the baby alive as water did not enter in. I was fully coated and protected with asphalt and pitch. Likewise, you need to be coated and covered with the love and grace of God. Only then you will be able to lead the souls you meet to heaven.

Beloved, what the ark of bulrushes shared is quite true, isn’t it? Only when we pass through all these stages, we can save and win the lost souls. Natural and unnatural deaths occur in large number every day and they are rushing to hell unheard of Jesus. Let us take a resolution to act as the ark of bulrushes to bring the people who are in the bondage of sin to Jesus. Let our focus be on winning souls for Christ.
