Daily Devotion (English) – 10.02.2022 (God’s creation’s special)

Challenge of the sea

“Then he arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still….” – Mark 4:39

I am an awesome creation of God. I am unfathomable. I am never still. The gentle tides and ebb and flow of waves are the life force of our world ocean. We roar and foam with swelling pride. People at the shore stand awestruck at the spilling and plunging waves of ours. 

Once we were roaring and crashing joyfully. A boat was sailing on us. Our splashing waves beat into the boat and it was tossed heavily. The disciples of Jesus who were on the boat got frightened. The boat was filling with water. They lost all hope of survival. Under these circumstances, we were shocked to see the mystery. You see, our nature is to drown if anyone walks on us. But when Jesus walked on us, we could do nothing to Him. As He is the Almighty God who created us, we could not manifest our true character. God’s divine nature descended on us and we were calm. On seeing Jesus walking on water, His disciple Peter began to walk on us with faith. When the wind was boisterous, Peter began to sink saying, “Lord save me.” Jesus lifted him and both got into the boat. At once the wind ceased and we were dumbfounded.

Beloved, if you have more faith in God, you can shine more for Christ. If Jesus is with you, even towering waves from us cannot do anything. We, the seas and the abundance of us are God’s and it was He who made us. He has set for us the boundary and He rule the swelling of us and He is able to stir us up. As we were made by His word, we submitted to God and to His word “Peace, be still”. If your words are filled with God’s power, you too can control us. According to John 14:12, “He who believes in me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do.” So have faith in God and do greater things for Him.
