Daily Devotion (English) – 05.02.2022 (God’s creation’s special)

 

Rare and valuable

 

“Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.” – Proverbs 31:30

 

I was formed and grown in the sea where the water temperature is warm. The process of my formation is complicated. Besides pearling is also a challenging task. You cannot find me in every oyster. The way I am formed and developed is a tough process. As I am made by the creator in an amazing way, I am valuable. 

 

Shall I tell you how I am formed? When a foreign body enters the oyster and gets between the mantle and shell, it becomes enclosed in a sac of mantle epithelium and it secretes a fluid to form layers around the foreign body. These layers get hardened and I am formed. It is a slow and time-consuming process. Sometimes it takes years for me to become a lustrous gem. I am a metaphor for something rare, fine and admirable. In the Holy Bible a virtuous woman is compared to me and proved that her worth is far above mine. It is written, “Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above pearls” The virtue of a woman is considered so important by God. I used to think that it must be an illusion to value the virtue of a woman higher than me. We are found in various colors and women also outshine in many professions (Proverbs 31:10-29).

 

Beloved virtuous women who excel pearls, shall I tell you how excellent you are? Your husband will have no lack of gain (31:11). You do him only good all the days of your life (31:12). You extend your hand to the poor and reach out your hands to the needy (31:20). You take great care of your family (31:21). You are clothed in strength and honor (31:25). And rejoice about future, you open your mouth with wisdom (31:26). You are diligent and watch over the household (31:27). Your children rise up and call you blessed (31:28). 

 

We are object of beauty with radiant colors. But our beauty is found in outer appearance. But your inner beauty is so valuable. Thus, you are beautified by the hidden person of the heart with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit. Your goodness and virtue are more precious than pearls. Are you a virtuous woman? May God help you to be a paragon of virtue. Hallelujah.
