Precious Treasure 

 

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God…” – 2 Timothy 3:16 

 

I am the Holy Bible. I am not an ordinary book. I am a precious treasure. I was written in three languages. It took nearly 1600 years to get me completed. I was written by 40 God’s men. Some of them were not acquainted with the others. The writers were humble vessels such as unlettered, fishermen, shepherds and physician. They were inspired by the Holy Spirit. I am the most printed book in all of world history and moreover the most researches are done on me. I am the most read book in the world. I am the bestselling book of all time. I consist of 66 books with two distinct sections: The Old testament and the New Testament. It takes 72 hours to read me through. Many attempts were made to destroy me. I was confiscated, torn and burned. But I am indestructible. Now I have been translated into more than 1200 languages and got printed. 

 

Do you know what a lot of goodness one receives if he loves me and reads and walks accordingly? Here are the blessings, I convert the soul (Psalms 19:7), Great peace you receive (Psalms 119:165), Delight fills you (Psalms 119:77), Eternal life is assured (John 5:39). 

 

Beloved, you are fortunate to hold me in your hands because of the selfless sacrifice made by the missionaries. Superficially I am made of just paper. But once you begin to read me, I shall be a powerful weapon to you. If you carry me, you will be carried by me. No author accompanies his book. But God who inspired to write me is always with me. In a nutshell, I am the Heavenly treasure. You will not get any power if you keep me under your pillow or bow down before me. Instead, if you read the word of God, meditate on it and keep the commands of God with passion and zeal you will be filled with God’s power. Commit yourself to the Lord and read and focus your thought on it not only on Sundays but every day. For sure your life will be a blessed one.
