Talking tree

 

“For we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” – Ephesians 2:10 

 

Hello! I am a tree who is speaking to you. I was living in an extremely hot desert named Shur. It seemed ages since I had last seen the drops of rain. There was only hotness and dryness all around me. I got sunburnt and I anguished if there would be days for me to flourish. There arose array of questions in my mind. I wondered why I alone had grown in the desert when there were so many lovely lush green places and watered gardens created by God. I thought I was of no use to anyone and I had no joy in my life. These negative thoughts lingered in my mind often.

 

The years rolled by. One day all of a sudden, I saw a multitude of people coming together into the wilderness. I heard the noise of a lot of voices at a distance. Then when the crowd got closer, their talk was audible. The people were complained to an old man with a radiant face android a rod in his hand. They contended with him saying “What shall we drink? How hitter the water is!” Then I came to understand that the good old man was their leader Moses. Moses was helpless. He prayed and God showed me to Moses. So Moses cut me and cast me into the bitter water. What a pleasant surprise! The waters were made sweet. Before the miracle, my life was a question mark but then my joy knew no bounds when I was able to quench the thirst of more than six lakhs of Israelites who were so thirsty without drinking water for three days in the wilderness. I put my thinking cap on. I was amazed to understand that God had kept me in the desert and prepared me well in advance to perform this miracle. So my heart soothed to know that it was not an accident that I had grown in the wilderness but it was a part of God’s plan and will. You see, how nice it was for an unnamed tree to find a place in the Holy Bible. 

 

Beloved readers, there may be unanswered questions in our mind about our life regarding our low birth, uncouth parents, poor family background, our outward appearance, illiteracy and unemployment. We need not worry. Even though I was a tree, God considered me and changed me and made me a blessing to all. But you are more valuable to God and it is a very simple matter for God to help and bless you all as you are the crown of God’s creation. But one thing, you need to wait patiently as I waited to be blessed. It is certain that you will be exalted in due time.
