Who is he?
“He raises the poor out of the dust, and lifts the needy out of the ash heap,” – Psalms 113:7
Bonaparte was a very smart little boy. There were thirteen members in his family. It was a happy family with fun, laughter and play fights. Whenever Bonaparte’s father, Corlo went for work, Bonaparte would pester him to take him to his work place. One day Bonaparte was so persistent that he could not be coaxed. His father had no other choice but to take him with him. Being late, he was admonished by his officer. Although Bonaparte felt sorry for his daddy, he admired the officer as he looked very great in his eyes. He wished to become an officer like him. Do you have dreams and ambitions? Yes, we may wish to become a doctor, an engineer, a nurse and so on.
One day Corlo’s family was invited by the officer for a feast in his home. The whole family made it to the feast. The children enjoyed playing and eating. But the eyes of Bonaparte were fixed on the officer. First time he met him in the office. From that day he adored him as his hero and kept him as his role model and dreamt of becoming an officer like him. But he happened to see someone reprimanding him at the feast. He understood that the officer had superiors. He asked his father, “Which is the highest rank in the country?” His father chuckled saying, “The king holds the highest authority” Then his aspiration was all about becoming a king. Bonaparte began his education at a boy’s school. Then at the age of ten, he was allowed to enter French military schools. He joined the army and he excelled in everything. Soon he became the supreme commander of the army by his cheer diligence and determination. He was one of the greatest military generals. When circumstances were in favor of him, he crowned himself as the first emperor of France. He became the emperor without royal blood line. To become a monarch, one should have been born into the royal family. But Bonaparte changed the history and proved that even an ordinary citizen could become a king. Do you know who that great figure was? He was the great and supreme commander Napoleon. He said, “The word impossible is not in my dictionary.” He rose to power and reached his goal by his confidence and perseverance although he was born of a humble family.
Beloved little brothers and sisters, we must not think, “I can’t, it is impossible, and it will never happen.” The Lord God who had created us says, “Is there anything hard for Me?” With God all things are possible. He will fulfill the desire and longing of our heart. If we progress in the journey of our life trusting in God, victory is ours.
