To be honored by God

 

“For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name…” – Hebrews 6:10

 

Who will be honored and held high by men in this world? Only politicians, actors and actresses secure places on the honor roll list. It is not possible for ordinary people doing odd jobs to get such honor by men. But even the most neglected and the downtrodden people will be duly honored by the King of Kings, if they do a part of God’s work. We read in the Bible that Naaman was a commander of the army of Syria and a great man. But he was infected with leprosy, the most dreaded disease. The little girl who was brought as a captive to serve Naaman’s wife played a major role in Naaman’s healing. The miracle of Naaman getting cured of leprosy was possible by the little idea given by the captive girl.

 

When Elisha sent a messenger to say to Naaman, “Go, wash yourself seven times in the Jordan and your flesh will be restored and you will be cleansed” Naaman turned and went off in a rage. But Naaman’s servants entreated him to do as the man of God told him. Naaman paid heed to their request and went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times and his flesh was restored and he became clean. Little guidance and counsel given on time by the little girl and attendants facilitated the miracle to happen. They worked for God and what did they gain? Naaman testified that, “Now I know there is no God in all the world except in Israel.”

 

We are the ones separated unto God! We may be a daily wager without wealth, status and designation. Our knowledge and talents may not be remarkable. Let us keep glorifying God in our workplace and exalting His Holy name. Let us keep praying for the salvation and well-being of our co-workers. Let us make efforts to get them know Jesus. If so, we shall be honored and considered as heroes in heaven and there will be rejoicing in heaven.
