Our Helper

 

“For I, the Lord your God,… saying to you; Fear not. I will help you.” - Isaiah 41:13

 

John was a little boy. One day he was playing on the terrace and looking around. Suddenly his father called out to him and asked him to jump down at once. In a moment he jumped from the parapet wall. Somehow his father managed to catch hold of him as he was small. In fact, his father had spotted sparks on the powerline and then the power pole was on fire. That was why he had hurried his son to come down quickly so as to protect him. People who had gathered around inquired how he was able to jump down. He said,” I heard my loving father’s voice asking me to jump down. He loves me and cares for me. I am sure that he will not do any harm to me. So, I obeyed.”

 

In the same way, when we read the bible God intervenes with us through His word in some matter. If we believe God’s word completely, we shall be blessed. Today our Lord holding our right hand says “I will help you” How delightful to hear that God will be with us throughout this year. If we trust that God is our present help in everything, He will be our helper in all occasions and lead us wonderful. If we put our trust in mortal men, sometimes their plans come to nothing. The mighty God can accomplish everything easily and perfectly, if we rely on him seeking His help. How strong and fearless we shall be if God is our Helper!         

 

Beloved, we need not be fearful and feel insecure to face the new year thinking about our weaknesses and unfavorable situations. God is holding our future in His hand. He with uphold us with His righteous righthand. He reassures us saying, “Fear not, I will help you.” If God is with us, we can confront all problems and any situation and overcome them. The Lord our God is might and great. Our problems are nothing in his sight. Nothing is impossible with him. Let us hold on to His promises and pray and be victorious in our lives. Hallelujah!
