Time for giving thanks

 

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits” - Psalms 103:2

 

We are at the last day of the year 2021. As 2021 draws to a close, we are obligated to thank God for all the goodness we had received till today. In 2020, the entire world was devastated by the life threatening covid-19 pandemic, and numerous people lost their lives to coronavirus. The outbreak of the second wave in 2021 reversed the history of the world. But we are still alive. The perfect end to such a day is a doxology of gratitude. God has spared us by his tender mercies. We are bound to give thanks to God as it is the foundation of Christianity. I am delighted to share my testimony with you at this juncture.

 

When I was a teen age girl, I lost my parents. The responsibility of caring my brother and sisters had been on my shoulders since the demise of our parents. I still remember all the way in which the lord led us in the days of distress. I was alone trusting in God. When I was 37 years old God gave me my life partner and God was so merciful to provide me with a house and above all, He enabled me to continue with my ministry. I was barren for two years but at the age of 40 I was blessed with a baby girl and after two years with a baby boy. He was so gracious that we were able to bring them up and they are well settled now. I praise and thank God every second for all the benefits He has done to us and for His compassion. It is Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed. 

 

God bestowed on me goodness and blessings and taught me to pray for others with burden through my afflictions and misery. I am gifted with the spirit of prayer that helps me to pray fervently with burden for the orphans, youth waiting for marriage, mothers waiting for fruit of the womb and the deep distressed persons. We might have encountered pain, sufferings and loss but in spite of all the troubles and sorrows we are kept alive. So, we are indebted to God for His compassion and we have to show our gratitude by thanking Him. We might not have received all that we anticipated every time, but He is good enough to carry us, bear us and deliver us. So let us rejoice in all that He has done for us so far. Let us dedicate ourselves to the Lord so that we will be able to fulfill the purpose and will of God in bringing us into a new year. Let us step into the New year with joy and peace by the grace of God.
