Daily Devotion (English) – 28.12.2021

 

All of us can receive

 

“…Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners of whom I am chief.” – 1 Timothy 1:15

 

When they were reaching out to a young girl with the gospel, she remarked that she was a Christian. As their conversation went on, they asked her if she had received salvation. She replied saying, “Why should I get saved? I have been brought up as a Christian. So, it is not necessary for me.” When she was asked what she understood by salvation, she was not able to answer. They shared the gospel saying,” Jesus shed his innocent blood and died for our sins on the cross and He was buried and He was raised on the third day. If death is the end of life, Jesus would not have come to the world. God our savior desires all men to be saved. We can receive salvation in Christ through repentance. Those who are redeemed will go to Heaven and the others will perish. So, it is high time that we repent. But she retorted saying that she had never committed any sin. The bible says,” If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and truth is not in us”. (1 John 1: 8) Many people misapprehend about salvation. If we repent, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

 

Beloved, even today we come across people who have this misconception. They have been Christians from generation to generation without experiencing salvation. In the gospel of John 3:3, Jesus says “Most assuredly I say to you unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God”. Receiving deliverance from our sins, we become new creations. Now we have to make sure of our salvation. Jesus is ready to redeem us. Eternal salvation is the gift of God. It is freely given to us by His grace. Let us receive it today through faith.
