Chief cornerstone

 

“…The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone…” - Matthew 21:42

 

Stone is an essential building material. The stone will be cut into different shapes and size as required. Only builders know which stone is to be set in a particular place and which is the best position for a stone to be laid. In the same way, God our creator alone knows where to keep us and in what situation and how to lead us. Corner stone is a stone that forms the foundation of a corner of a building and serves to unite two walls. Likewise, Christ Jesus is the corner stone that bridges God and mankind.

 

Jesus Christ who was rejected and reproached by the High priests, Scribes Pharisees and Sadducees became the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. He was rejected by the Jews but exalted as the chief corner stone. This was the rewards for His humility and obedience submission.

 

Beloved sisters and brothers, we may be rejected by others in our family or in the work place. We may be labelled as good for nothing, inefficient and incompetent. Jesus, the corner stone is so might that He can exalt us and our family.

 

Leah, the first wife of Jacob was loved less by Jacob and belittled by her sister. She was not desirable to her husband. Her younger sister despised her. But God was mindful of her. He made her joyful by enabling her to conceive. She became a mother of seven. One of those sons was Judah who was listed in Matthew in the genealogy of the King of Kings Jesus Christ. Of course, the world can throw us away, but the lord chooses and elevates us. God sees our heart and knows our wounds. Though we are unloved and unwanted, let us pursue the Lord. We will be honored and blessed Hallelujah!
