Brightness has emerged 

 

“…Lights in the firmament…let them be for signs and seasons and days and years.” – Genesis 1:14 

 

Brothers and sisters, “Merry Christmas to you!” We are celebrating Christmas with great joy and happiness. Christmas comes once a year. The houses are illuminated with dazzling lights. The radiant lights brighten us up. But do we have brightness in our hearts and lives? Are we living a radiant life? 

 

A certain boy was well known to me. He was not good at studies. He did not have the quality of being obedient. His mother was in tears. She entreated me to counsel him. I spoke to him and asked him what his problem was. With tears in his eyes he said, “Sister, my father is an alcoholic; he comes home intoxicated every night. I am not able to concentrate on my studies. I do not have the tendency to obey.” I was saddened to know that his name was Bright. There was brightness in his name. But it was missing and darkness was seen in his life at the young age. 

 

The above quoted verse says God made lights to divide and differentiate the day from the night. No one can deny the statement that the lights made by God was the first calendar in the world. If there were no lights, we cannot calculate days, months and years. If the light which is the work of His hands is so powerful, how radiant our life will be if Jesus, the light comes into our lives. Jesus is the light of the world. Jesus came into the world and rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into His marvelous light. For those who have come out of darkness into His marvelous light, each day is Christmas. Just ponder. My query is, “Do we have brightness in our lives? Suppose, we say that our life is dull yet, let us invite Jesus into our lives. When we are in the light, it will enable us to enlighten other’s lives. Those who follow Jesus will not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.
