With wholehearted wishes 

 

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men!” - Luke 2:14

 

Christmas festivities and events differ from country to country. The Christians in Ukraine celebrate Christmas in a distinct manner. Different programs take place in their celebration. To symbolize the manger where Jesus was born, the Ukrainians scatter some hay under the table as well as under the table cloth spread on the dining table. They have another Christmas tradition. On that day, a prayer is said and then the father says, “Christ is born” which is answered by the members of the family with, “Let us glorify Him!” This is how they exchange Christmas greetings among their family members. 

 

We should never think that greetings and wishes are to be extended only to others. We need to wish and share our greetings to our family members. In the Christmas wish, “Goodwill towards men” is extended to everyone and our families are also included. When we exchange greetings in Jesus, there comes joy and compliance in the family. Christmas season paves way for rebuilding and fixing broken families and broken relationships. Some people may argue that we should not exchange Christmas greetings. But let us share our loving Christmas greetings to our family members and others. 

 

The proclamation that Jesus is the propitiation for all our sins is not only the good news but also a greeting message. So, let us all exchange the glad tidings of the birth of Jesus to one another.
