Christmas that delights God

“…if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” – 2 Corinthians 5:17

Hello, kids, just five days have to go for Christmas. We can enjoy and have a jolly time. But our celebration must delight Jesus. Am I correct? Okay, shall we listen to the story of a butterfly today?

We all admire the attractive and colorful butterflies flying swiftly and beautifully, don’t we? Yes. You must have played catching butterflies.

A certain butterfly had a special gift of mind reading. It could discern what each person was thinking in his mind. The butterfly got up early morning at the crowing of the cock. It flew to the church, where the Christmas service and worship were going on. It was there by the side of a little boy named Abraham.

Abraham was thinking that he could fire crackers and enjoy with his friends when the service was over. The butterfly found out that only crackers occupied the foreground of his mind. Then it flew to Mary and was seen by her side. Mary was thinking about her dress and necklace. She took pride to think that her dress and necklace were the most expensive ones of all the dresses and necklace others wore.

The butterfly knew that her mind was on her dress and necklace. Leaving her, it came near sister Malar. Sister Malar was thinking proudly that her makeup was the most attractive among all ladies and her new necklace would be appreciated by everyone. The butterfly came to know that even grown-up women like Malar’s mind was filled with thoughts about jewels and make up. Then the butterfly’s eyes fell on a little girl Nimmy who was weeping. The butterfly thought that there would not be any interesting matter to find in the cry baby. Thus, it flew away to a plant.

The butterfly knew that most of the members were from well to do families. But it wanted to find out who the richest of all was. All the people were coming out of the church as the service was over. God pointed out to Nimmy and said that Nimmy was the richest of all. The butterfly said that Nimmy owned nothing costly. Jesus said,” I am very precious and I am in her heart. She alone prayed tearfully that I should be born in her heart and be with her. Others celebrate my birthday forgetting all about me.” The butterfly understood the mind of Jesus.

Dear little boys and girls, you listened to the story, didn’t you? Yes. Now can you understand the desire of Jesus? Now tell me, how are we going to celebrate Christmas? Is our celebration with Jesus or without Jesus? It is vain if the celebration is without Jesus.
