Are you ready?
“…the chariot of Israel and its horsemen…” – II Kings 13:14
A certain minister of God gave a sermon in a church on the title “Who will go for me?” He ended his sermon with a query asking the congregation, “Who responds to the voice of the Lord for doing His service?” Then he prayed and asked the congregation to raise their hands if they were ready to do service to the Holy God. They heard a tearful voice saying, “Send me, I will go for Him.” But it was agonizing to see only one youth out of the great number of people submitted himself to serve God. That man of God was sent to do ministry amid tribals. Many souls were saved for Christ and wonders and signs were performed and through him there arose a great revival among the tribals.
In the Holy Bible we read about Elisha who came to know about God’s will and His call through prophet Elijah. At once he left his family and followed Elijah and became his servant and poured water on his hand and thus, he did a small ministry. But God remembered his submission. At the appointed time, he was anointed and he received great power and double portion of Elijah’s spirit upon him. He was used by God as the horseman to lead the Israelites in the path of victory.
The youth from the church submitted himself to God and fulfilled the expectations of God. As a result, a great number of tribals received Jesus Christ as their savior. The submission of Elisha led the Israelites in the right path. How about us? God has been speaking to us about His plan for the spiritual revival. He has been reminding us through the word of God and the messages given by men of God. We disregard the anticipation of our Lord and are when our own selfish worldly necessities are fulfilled. It is not right on our part to ask only for perishable worldly needs. God anticipates to behold imperishable souls. Let us give first priority to God and fulfill His expectations by winning souls for Christ.
