The first place in the heart

 

“Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you.” - Matthew 6:33

 

Rev. D.S. Mohan, a man of God is a good example for receiving thousands of good things from God when an individual makes God first in his life. In his youth he lived as his heart desired. But when he accepted Jesus Christ as his savior, he began to seek God earnestly every day. He understood that he could do nothing without Jesus. So, he accepted God’s call and obeyed His words and quit his job and dedicated himself for full time ministry. As he honored God and made Him his first priority, he was blessed abundantly. He served as a pastor in Tamil Methodist church. He held different positions in Bethel in Danishpet, Salem and did God’s ministry. He was much attached to a missionary foundation and led a lot of people to Christ. He enjoyed God’s blessings in the family and exaltation in the lives of his children as well. 

 

In the Bible, there was war between Abijah, the king of Judah and Jeroboam. Abijah sought God first. How wise of him to take the matter to the Lord. He assured boldly that God Himself was with them as their head. The king and his subjects prevailed because they relied on the Lord God of their fathers. Jeroboam did not recover strength again in the days of Abijah and the Lord struck him and he died. 

 

Beloved in Christ, without being content with salvation, when God is made first in priority the king was victorious. If we put God first in our priorities, we will also receive good things in our lives like the man of God quoted above. May God be gracious unto us and help us lead such a life.
