“…You are the God who sees.”– Genesis 16:13

 

The installation of surveillance camera is the need of the hour as violence and crimes are increasing day by day. CCTV cameras have been installed in airport, railway station, bus stand, hospitals, malls roads and streets and wherever there is a big crowd of people. It monitors the movements of the people and prevents crimes. Our Lord Jesus Christ keeps watch on each one of us. He looked up and saw people putting gifts into the treasury. He also saw a certain poor widow putting in two mites. He said, “This poor widow has put in more than all” because she gave cheerfully willingly and honestly what all she had for her livelihood.

 

Hager, Sarai’s maid and Abiram’s concubine was fleeing from the presence of her mistress to the wilderness as she was mistreated by her. God spoke to Hager on seeing her tears and agony. She called the name of the lord who spoke to her “You are the God who sees” She obeyed and returned to her mistress and submitted herself under her hand.

 

I was working in a TELC hostel, after my completion of PUC. At that time, I got an opportunity in 1978 to study Home Science in college. In the first year, I was acknowledged and appreciated by our Principal and I was given a round of applause in the assembly. Our principal had noticed me from the 3rd floor often picking papers and rubbish and throwing them into the dustbins. Being a hostler, my activities and works were watched by her. Pointing out to some of my good works, she lauded me in the whole assembly. That very night I wrote in my diary. “Oh God, you have been watching me every second. Let all my works be acceptable and pleasing to people and above all to you “. I have been trying since then. At times when I fail, I ask for forgiveness and correct myself. Yes, the eyes of the Lord is our surveillance camera. Oh! God Teach me to do your will; You are my God. Your spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness” Amen.
