Prayer of the Hearing -Impaired

 

“Go in this might of yours…” – Judges 6:14

 

There were pools of water everywhere as it was rainy season. Many frogs were there in one of the deep pools of water. They held a climbing competition. The one who climbed out of the pool first would be the winner. The competition began. However, they tried to climb, they could climb only a little. They slid and slipped and fell back into the pool. They found it a hard task. The frogs on the land near the pool mocked at the frogs saying that they could never come out of the pool. But only one frog alone climbed up slowly and steadily and won the competition. It was incredible to the others. So, when they discussed the secret behind his success, it was made clear that he could achieve as he was hard of hearing. Those who heard the criticism of other frogs were discouraged and they failed in their attempts. Yes, the success and failures of men are written in history but not the criticism. It does not matter whether we win or lose but it is important if we persevere or not. On hearing the comments of others, we give up without making any effort and conclude that it is impossible.

 

In the Holy Bible, Saul was chosen by the Lord and anointed by Samuel. But rebels said “How can this man save us?” So, they despised him and brought him no presents. But Saul did not pay any heed to it. He held his peace. (1 Samuel 10:27) People may come to tease, to mock and to belittle us when we begin a new project on assigned task. We may not receive any form of appreciation in our work place, in ministry or in the family. We must pretend to be deaf if they comment saying “Where on earth are you going to do?” Dear sisters and brothers, are we scared of the discouraging words? or have their remarks brought us to a standstill? We need not get dismayed. Almighty God is with us. Put in all-out effort diligently and incessantly heedless of their criticism. Success is sure.

  

The Lord Says “Have I not sent you?” He is with us to direct us and to give us victory. He will exalt us and make us a blessing to many others. Hallelujah.
