Labor
“He who tills his land will be satisfied with bread,” – Proverbs 12:11
Soichiro Honda had an aspiration to own a workshop for manufacturing piston rings. It was possible for him to build one in 1928. He labored day and night in designing quality piston rings. Finally came the day he completed his piston ring and took a working sample to Toyota Company with great expectation but it was rejected as it did not meet their standards. But nothing could deter him from redesigning it and he won a contract with Toyota company. He tried to construct a factory. But the building materials were in short supply because of the World war. Still, he did not give up. He invented a new concrete making process that enabled him to build the factory. But the factory was bombed. After the war, there was an extreme gasoline shortage. People had to walk or use bicycles. Honda built a tiny engine and attached it to his bicycle. How much demand his new bicycle had! Everyone placed an order for a bicycle. This resulted in his invention of Honda motor cycle. As we all know Honda motor cycle is one of the best-selling motor cycles in the world.
The Holy Bible says, “He who tills his land will be satisfied with bread.” The more we toil, the more the yield is. Our labor will never be in vain. It is written in the Holy Bible, the hand of the diligent makes rich. Isaac sowed seed in the land and that very year he reaped a hundred-fold.
Beloved in Christ, are our hands slackening or toiling? If we labor continuously, we will enjoy the fruit of our labor. Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy. We can overcome failures, obstacles and challenges through our hard work and diligence. Let us keep toiling without giving up like Soichiro Honda. More new plans and tasks will be ahead for us. Let us work hard and look forward to great things.
