Defective Guide

 

“…for Your name's sake, lead me and guide me...” - Psalm 31:3

 

When Bro. Bhagat Singh came out after attending worship in a town called Winnipeg from Canada, one unknown person ran urgently to him and held his hand tightly. He asked, “Brother! Why don’t you go to India and preach the Gospel?” For that, Bhagat Singh replied, “I am an Engineer. I studied this engineering for more years. Moreover, I am having slow of and an impediment in speech. How can a person like me, having stage fear and shy of gatherings and having frightened and with impediment in speech, to become a preacher?” But finally, the Lord modified him as blessing to many lakhs of people in India and a holy guide to guide many people into the Lord and used him mightily.  

 

In the Bible, the godly man, Moses was having defects of slow of speech and slow of tongue. But the Lord chose him to be a leader, a guide and a teacher for guiding so many thousands of Israelites. With the hands of Moses, the Lord performed many miracles and wonders before the people of Israel. Even though, Moses got a name for his calmness and sincerity, finally he could not get into the nation of Canaan. The reason is: the Lord said to Moses to speak to the rock; but he struck the rock with his rod twice. Since Moses lost his patience and showed his anger, he could not enter in Canaan. 

 

Those who read this, you may be a guide to direct your family, a teacher and a leader of your family. We also, when we get into us, anger, bitterness and enmity, we shall correct it then and there. If not, we will lose a great blessing. Moreover, the Lord made every one of us, as the guide and teacher in this world. He made us as a guide to rescue the people who live in darkness and in sin and teacher to announce His name. Even though we are the guide with defect, the Lord will help us to live as a good and complete guide.
