Daily Devotion (English) – 29.09.2021

 

For the attention of parents

 

“In all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works;” - Titus 2:7

 

In a college, two brothers who belong to a poor family studied. Elder brother did not concentrate on the studies, but got addicted to liquor. He got money from the family members by threatening them and drank. But the younger one was interested in the studies and got respect from the college. The college professor wondered that this much difference between the two persons coming from the same family; the younger one was good one and the elder one was so bad that everybody scolding him. When the Professor called those two and asked “Who is the reason for your behavior?” both told the same reply, “My father is the reason for my behavior.” When this was asked to the elder one, he said, “From the time I came to know, he drank and do fight, day and night. I got beaten by him so many times. Since I am his son, how can I be a different one? So, I also became drunkard.” When the younger one was asked, he also told the same reply. He said, “I thought I should not be a worse son like my worse father. My father is the real reason for my behavior.”

 

My dear parents! How are you bringing up your children? As told in the above meditated part, what kind of testimony are you showing to your children? Parents! Your children are growing by seeing you only. Character of your children will be like your character only. Are you showing difference among your children? If so, it is wrong. Whatever number of children you have, you practice to treat them equally. You must be a model for your children for good deeds, not for evil works. Accordingly, teach them to live. Because of that you may get a godly offspring. Because, adopting of good way or evil way of a child depends on parents only. So, parents! In what way are you going to lead your children? Live as a good model before your children. God bless you. Amen.
