Willing Mind

 

“…serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind;” - 1 Chronicles 28:9

 

Once, all over the country, one trumpet was beaten to announce one thing. Its synopsis was the King of that country was coming for visiting rounds in that area and for those persons who attract his heart, will be given gift. People got happy. With the intension to get the gift by attracting the heart of the king, at any cost, people cleaned their town as a whole. They decorated their houses. Still some people dressed themselves with beautiful new clothes, put up costly ornaments, got some gifts and stood on the main streets of the town, on that day of their king’s visit. But one poor man, who could not do anything, did his household works cheerfully. But the king wished to visit the people not by the main streets of the town but in other way. He was disappointed because nobody was there and returned back. On the way, he saw one man doing his work cheerfully, felt happy and gave all the costly gifts to that poor man and went back. Then he returned to the palace by another way. Those people, who were waiting, got disappointment only. 

 

In our Bible also, in 2 Chronicles 17:6, our Bible identifies about Jehoshaphat as this. “His heart took delight in the ways of the Lord.” He walked in the first ways of his father and sought not unto Baalim. But sought to the Lord God of his father, and walked in His commandments. The Lord expanded his kingdom and blessed him with all blessings. 

 

Yes! Children of God! When I read this, my heart got astonished. Is your heart got excited to walk on the ways of the Lord? Like that poor man who got the gift by doing all his works cheerfully, we also shall walk on the ways of the Lord and shall get blessings like Jehoshaphat.
