Succeed temptations

 

“…God… will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” - 1 Corinthians 10:13

 

One day, mother of one little boy called Babu, made 4 cakes and went to shop. Before going out, she told Babu that those cakes are meant for evening snacks and not to eat before that. Since the sweet smell of the cake was tempting him, he could not control his desire to eat those cakes. He ate 3 cakes. When his mother returned, she condemned Babu for his mistake. But he said, “Mom! I hold my nose tightly to prevent my nose to smell the cake. Since I got breathlessness, I took my hand out. Since my legs did not obey, I went to kitchen. When I went there, my hand and mouth also disobeyed me.”

 

Yes, my dear people! We also did some mistakes daringly and put the blame on the situation or some persons or devil. Like Eve put the blame on the serpent and Adam in Eve, truly, who/what is the reason for the temptation? The Bible says, “But each one is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.” (James 1:14). When our lust is joined with tempting situations / things / person, we fall into the temptation. Lust for money traps one man into bribery and corruption. Lust for things paves way to robbery. Lust of the flesh pushes to adultery. 

 

When we listen to the birds, they listen very carefully, before sitting in a place or eating its prey, whether there is any danger around. We also should pray with vigilance for the temptations to be faced by us every day. Jesus advised us to watch and pray, lest enter into temptation. (Mark 14:38). In His prayer also he taught us to pray for not to be led into temptations, but to be delivered from the evil one. 

 

Finally, as Jesus did, we should obey the verses of the Bible and to resist the devil who is the tempter. Let us follow the ways shown by the Lord to succeed the temptations!
