Daily Devotion (English) – 27.06.2021 (Kids Special)

 

“In everything give thanks;” – 1 Thessalonians 5:18

 

Dear kids! How are you all? Hope you are all very happy. There is no school, no test and no exam and so you can sleep well, play joyfully and enjoy as you like. No one knows when schools will reopen. So far no one has got such an opportunity like this. Any way you have to wash your hands, face and legs thoroughly Stay indoors. Eat homemade food. Don’t spend more time on TV or Mobile as your eyes will be affected. Do only what is pleasing to Jesus Christ. Ok, listen to the story. 

 

There was a village in a thick forest area. A wood cutter lived there with his wife and son. Three of them went together to the forest to cut wood and they sold it to make a living. They were poor but God fearing. They used to pray to God to give them each day’s goodness. One day, while they were returning from the forest, a stray pony had followed them. They tied it, gave food and took care of it with love. Within a few months it became a strong and fat horse. As the horse was handsome and suitable for drawing chariots, some men were ready to buy the horse for any amount of money. But he refused to sell it saying that he treated the horse as a member of the family and God’s gift. The villagers scolded him for being unwise to accept high price and get free from poverty. 

One night, the horse was missing. The villagers laughed at him. But he said, “It was for good; all things work together for good to those who love God.” So he kept on thanking God. 

 

One morning there was a commotion. When the door was opened, they saw 12 horses including the lost horse. The whole village was astonished at the sight. He trained the horses for riding and God established the work of his hands. The villagers understood the value of giving thanks to God incessantly in all situations. 

 

Dear kids, whenever we are in troubles if we get into the habit of thanking God, He will turn evil into good. Will you do it?
