What is my share for God?

 

"...for God loveth a cheerful giver" - 2 Corinthians 9:7

 

A man received his salary and placed the money in a box. At midnight, the 500-rupee notes began to jump, dance, and sing, "We are going to the supermarket! We are going to the supermarket!" Meanwhile, the 100-rupee notes twirled around, singing, "We are going to school! We are going to school!" Seeing this, the 10-rupee notes laughed and said, "We are going to the shop! We are going to the shop!" The small coins became very sad, realizing that everyone else was going out, the 500-rupee notes to buy goods, the 100-rupee notes to pay school fees, and the 10-rupee notes to buy vegetables. They wondered where they would go. Suddenly, the coins’ faces lit up, and they laughed, saying, "We are going to the church!"

 

Dear children of God, do you understand? What are we going to give to Jesus today? Is it the 500, 100, or 10-rupee notes, or is it the small change? The Bible says that the Lord loves a cheerful giver. I have been involved in church ministry for over twenty years. When opening the offering box, I have often seen torn currency notes. The notes that even the milkman, the rickshaw puller, or the auto-rickshaw driver would refuse to accept are placed there as an offering. This is precisely what is written in the Book of the Prophet Malachi: regarding offerings, he says, "You bring the torn, the lame, and the sick" (Malachi 1:13).

 

An offering worthy of the Lord consists of the first ripe fruit, the firstborn, and the best currency notes. To whom or to what do we give priority? To God, or to other matters? We reap exactly what we sow. Let us give the Lord the first place and the very best. God will accept it. Cain did not offer the best; Abel did, and the Lord accepted his offering. It becomes a blessing to us only when the Lord accepts what we offer. Let us give the Lord the first place. May the Lord Himself bless us.
