Free Salvation
“Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:” - Romans 3:24
In this world, we receive many things from God entirely free of charge. But do we offer God our thanks for them? Sadly, our answer is often "No." He has provided us with fresh air to breathe, clean water to drink, a variety of natural foods to eat, and cotton and silk for our clothing. He has also bestowed upon us naturally metals like silver and gold, as well as various mineral salts, all designed to benefit our physical bodies. He created the sun, the moon, and the stars to provide light, and the earth itself as a place for us to dwell. We are duty-bound to offer our thanks to our God for all these blessings. We are not required to pay any price for them. Because we enjoy all these things freely, we often fail to recognize their true value.
In the same way, Jesus Christ has freely granted us salvation and has made us righteous. As human beings in this world, corrupted by sin we naturally lack the desire to seek God. The wages of sin is death. Who, then, is capable of delivering us from this death and from the bondage of sin? It was for this very purpose that Jesus descended from heaven to this earth; He was crucified on the cross for the sins of us all, endured immense suffering, and died. On the third day, He rose again, and He now sits at the right hand of the Father in heaven. He has freely bestowed upon each one of us this salvation a redemption, He secured at the cost of such great suffering. Yet, our actions often tend to lead to ruin both our bodies and our souls. Many people become enslaved to harmful habits; in doing so, they not only squander their money but also destroy their physical health. Young people and even adults spend excessive amounts of time on social media, thereby wasting their precious time. Many young men and women, who are at the very stage of life where they ought to be achieving great things, fall captive to such sinful habits and end up forfeiting both their present lives and their futures. Break free from these entanglements; come running to receive the free salvation offered by Jesus. This is precisely what God declares in Isaiah 55:1-2: “Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.”
My dear young friends, brothers and sisters come and receive your salvation and redemption freely from Jesus, without money and without cost; thereby, preserve both your body and your soul.
