MOBILE DATA
“Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time” - Colossians 4:5
Today, whether in villages or cities, among educated or uneducated people, almost everyone has an Android phone. Regardless of whether we speak to those around us or sometimes even to those within our own family members we spend hours on our phones. While this is often useful and beneficial, it can also, at times, become a way to viewing unnecessary and harmful content. Many of us today live with a mindset driven by the fear of waste; thinking, "I’ve subscribed to 2 GB of data for the day; it will go to waste if I don't use it," we continue to use our phones downloading various things just to deplete the data even when we are busy with work. However, if we ask ourselves whether we are utilizing this time beneficially for God, our Creator, the answer remains a question mark. In these days when we ought to be actively and earnestly utilizing our time for God, we waste it on many unimportant things.
In the Bible, in the book of Book of Esther, we read about Queen Esther. Haman planned to destroy the Jewish people, and Mordecai warned Esther about this danger. Esther responded with fasting, prayer, and decisive action. In the presence of the Lord, she received the strength and grace she needed to speak wisely to the King. Relying neither on her royal title as Queen nor on her relationship with her husband but rather placing her trust in the God of Heaven, she interceded with the King on behalf of her people at the right moment. What a marvel! A favourable decree was issued. Messengers were swiftly dispatched to all 127 provinces. We observe that, as a sense of awe regarding the Jews fell upon the people, many chose to embrace the Jewish faith. What a triumph! She recognized the preciousness of time and acted with urgency and determination. Had Esther delayed, calamity would surely have befallen the Jewish people.
Indeed, even in these days, so many people are perishing, and acts that bring dishonour upon the children of God are taking place. Do you imagine that you are exempt simply because you are comfortable or feel "safe"? Esther who held authority over 127 nations seized the opportunity and made the most of her time. Today, we waste time simply because we do not want our mobile data to go unused. Meanwhile, people are moving quickly toward destruction and wasting the life God has given them. What are we doing for them?
Hell is working actively. The devil is also working actively. But how are we working? Are we using our time wisely and meaningfully?
How are we responding? Are we making the most of the time we have? Let us reflect upon this.
