Do Not Hesitate to Share the Gospel

 

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ...” - Romans 1:16

 

In Brazil, a man named Carlos traveled by truck to a town called Mato Grosso. During the journey, the truck driver made many attempts to start a conversation with Carlos, but Carlos remained silent throughout the trip. As they reached the destination and Carlos was about to leave, the truck driver handed him a small copy of the New Testament and said, “Whenever you get the opportunity, please read this.” Carlos accepted it unwillingly and walked away deep in thought.

 

Many months later, the truck driver happened to visit a church, where he unexpectedly encountered Carlos. The driver asked him, "Do you recognize me?” Carlos replied emotionally, “Of course I remember you! The very day I received the New Testament from you, I was actually on my way to murder someone. As I was walking, I suddenly felt as though someone was pulling at my shirt. When I turned around, no one was there. Shocked and confused, I sat down for a while; after a short while, I opened the New Testament you had given me and began to read. As I read on, I resolved that I must not kill that man. Now," he added joyfully, "I stand before you as a man who has truly repented."

 

Dear children of God! Thanks to the New Testament given by that truck driver, two lives were saved that day. Had the driver hesitated to share it, one man would have become a murderer, and the other would have been killed. Instead, one man has now received eternal life in Jesus Christ, while the other has received the gift of life to live on in this world. Let us, too, never be ashamed to share the Gospel! This is our work. If we perform our task correctly, the Lord, too, will bring His work to completion. This is precisely what the Scripture declares: "So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I sent it to do" (Isaiah 55:11). Therefore, let us proclaim the Gospel without hesitation. Let us guide those who have strayed back onto the right path and lead them safely to the shores of eternal life.
