God’s Gift
“As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God" - 1 Peter 4:10
God has created each one of us in a unique way. He has given different kinds of talents and abilities to every person. Whether it is knowledge, speaking ability, leadership skills, or a helping nature—none of these come purely from our own efforts. They are gifts from God. If we do not use the talents God has given us for His Kingdom, it is equal to dishonouring the One who gave them. Just as unused iron begins to rust, an unused talent will slowly fade away. Whether the task is small or big, when it is done faithfully and sincerely, God blesses it.
In the Bible, in Exodus 31:1–6, we read about Bezalel, whom God specifically chose to build the Tabernacle. God filled him with wisdom and skill, enabling him to work beautifully with gold, silver, and bronze, to cut and set precious stones, and to do all kinds of artistic craftsmanship. In the same way, whatever work has been assigned to us, when we do it with dedication as unto the Lord, God will surely bless it.
Similarly, when David was merely a young shepherd boy, he was a master at playing the harp. When King Saul was tormented by an evil spirit, David would play the harp, bringing a sense of peace to the king. Not only that, David later wrote many psalms, which continue to help us praise God even today.
Yes, dear beloved! Our talents should serve as instruments to draw others closer to God. "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might..." (Ecclesiastes 9:10). In accordance with this verse, Whatever ability God has given you, consider it as a seed from God. When you use it for the blessing of others, God will multiply it and make it useful for many people. Amen.
