Your effort is not in vain

 

“…and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee” - Matt. 9:2

 

At a youth camp where more than one lakh young people participated, a sister from Erode district decided in her heart that she would do whatever she could for God. She hired a van and brought many young people she knew to the camp. She spent her time, physical effort, and money for this purpose. What a wonderful miracle! Seeing her dedication and work, God blessed her. After 16 years of being childless, the Lord graciously allowed her to conceive. Glory be to God.

 

In the Bible, the miracle of healing a paralytic is mentioned in three of the Gospels. Four people united to bring the paralytic man to Jesus so that he could be healed. They had compassion on him and worked hard to help him. Even though there was a crowd in front of the house and they could not reach Jesus, they did not give up. With great patience they tried again and again. They even opened the roof of the house so that, somehow, they could lower the man down in front of Jesus. They were probably ready to pay the house owner for the damage to the roof. They worked hard and took him to Jesus and also got the paralyzed man healed. Jesus Christ also praised the faith of those four. The people were amazed and glorified God.

 

Dearly beloved, if that sister had thought, “Someone else is conducting the youth camp, what is it to me?” would those young people have been blessed like this? In the same way, perhaps your hard work is not seen by people, and no one praises you. Sometimes, the very people who received good from you may have hurt you, and this may have discouraged you. But God is not unjust to forget the labour of your love. He knows the thoughts of your heart and will surely reward you both in this world and in eternity. Therefore, serve the Lord wholeheartedly. Let your time, your abilities, and your money be used for the Lord.
