Contributing Creations

 

"...Praise the Lord, O mighty winds, at His command" - Psalm 148:7-12

 

All created things obey God’s word and contribute to His work. When Jesus told the sea, “Be quiet and be still,” the sea immediately obeyed and became calm. The Red Sea also obeyed God and opened a path so that the Israelites could pass through and continue their journey to Canaan. Throughout the Bible we see how creation obeys God’s command. Let us look at one incident where even circumstances obeyed God so that He could perform a miracle in a person’s life.

 

An award ceremony was organized in the United States for Dr. Mark for his cancer drug research. While he was traveling, his flight had a technical problem and had to land unexpectedly. The next flight was only available after ten hours. So, he rented a car and started his journey. Because of heavy snowfall, he lost his way and became very tired. He noticed a small house nearby and decided to ask for help. There, a young woman welcomed him. She said there was no phone in the house but invited him to rest for a while. She gave him tea and biscuits. She said that it was her prayer time and asked him if he would like to join her. To that, he replied he didn’t believe in God and believed only his hard work. Seeing her kneeling near the baby’s crib and praying fervently, Dr. Mark realized that they had some need. He asked her what she was praying for. She said that her little son had a rare type of cancer and that only Dr. Mark could cure him. But she didn’t have the money to go to him, and she said that she was confident that God would answer her prayers and one day open a way. Hearing this, Dr. Mark was amazed and tears welled up in his eyes. He said, "I consider it a privilege to treat this child more than the award I was going to receive." Hearing the mother's prayer, the Lord commanded nature, stopped the journey, and brought Dr. Mark.

 

Yes, our God makes nature obey not only for a large group of Israelites, but also for one person. God will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Believe that God will do a miracle in your life also. When nature itself obeys the word of God and gives its contribution to God, how much more will we realize the need to obey His word and fulfill the will of God. Amen.
