Contribution from the Assets

 

“…and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance" - Luke 8:3

 

C. T. Studd was born into a wealthy family in England. He was very talented. At the age of 18, he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. His father's assets were worth two and a half crores in the 1860s. When his assets were divided among his children, he received a large sum. But do you know what he did after deciding to go as a missionary? He distributed them to ministers and preachers like George Muller and William Booth. He kept only a small amount for himself. His wife Priscilla urged him to give even that little to the missionaries. So he kept a very small amount of money and gave everything else to the ministries.

 

He went to China and served God for 10 years. Even though he was a good cricketer, he gave it up and dedicated himself to Jesus and His heavenly kingdom. This man of God often said, "You only have one life, and that too will pass quickly; only what you do for the Lord will last"!

 

During the days when Jesus lived on earth, many women served the Lord along with him. We see that Mary, Joanna, Susanna, and many other women who served him with their possessions.

 

Dear readers! No matter how great a position we have in this world or how much possessions we have, we have received all these from God. We will spend the wealth that the Lord has graciously given us for His service. He does not leave anyone who has given their possessions to Jesus as poor. Therefore, let us come forward to serve Jesus with our possessions. Let us be devoted and joyful.
