The Contribution of the Shunammite Woman

 

"Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither" - 2 Kings 4:10

 

During the days when Elisha was ministering, he often went to the town of Shunem for ministry. Whenever Elisha went to Shunem, a woman called him and fed and cared for him. She did this for many days. One day, she talked to her husband about the servant and his ministry, and said, "Let us build a room on our house so that the servant's ministry can continue without interruption, and put a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp there. Whenever the servant comes, he can stay there." Her husband also accepted his wife's desire to do God's work. Therefore, God's ministry plan was fulfilled in that area.

 

Since this Shunammite woman had made her contribution to Elisha's ministry with all her heart, Elisha thought that we should help her in some way and said to his servant, "Ask her what she wants." But she was childless. Elisha's Contribution: Elisha prayed to God for a child and God blessed her with a child.

 

My dear children of God, ministers and believers, after reading this message from God, decide what your contribution will be. Like this Shunammite woman, you can help the servants to live in a part of your house and fulfill the ministry. Otherwise, you can give your space or money to God's work. You can give one third of the above as your contribution to the building of the Kingdom of God. When you fulfill your contribution, God will surely give you the reward of your contribution from God. "...for God is not unrighteous so as to forget your work and the labour of love that you have shown for His name." (Hebrews 6:10)
