A Contribution That Fills the Gap

 

"...and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles" - Acts 1:26

 

There was a time when the Australian cricket team had a gap in their bowling department. The team struggled because they could not handle their opponents well. At that time, a bowler named Glenn McGrath joined the Australian team. His bowling became very important in the history of Australian cricket. He worked hard for the team’s success. He was part of the Australian team that won the World Cup three times in a row. During those days, the team he played in became almost unbeatable and was a challenge to the whole world.

 

In the first chapter of the Bible, we see an incident. Out of the 12 disciples, there were only 11. One was missing. The disciples prayed and decided to choose another one instead of saying that we would only have 11. That is when we see that the lot fell on Matthias and he was added to the eleven apostles. Matthias joined them and did his part in spreading the Gospel.

 

Dear Friends, today there is a lot of gaps in the ranks of those who contribute to the building of the God’s kingdom. There is a need for people to wake up early and pray, to intercede in prayer, to go to villages daily for ministry, and to conduct house prayer meetings. Even though churches and ministries are increasing in number, many people are still unreached. The Gospel has not yet been preached everywhere.

 

To fill this gap, understand that the “lot” may be falling on each one of you who is reading this. In the Village Missionary Movement, we have many planned activities showing how a worker or believer can contribute from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day. Are you ready to work together in this? Will you come forward to contribute your part to fill the gap in the ministry in this country? We invite everyone to work in this year, calling it "the year of my contribution." Amen.
